I worry that by building these weird academic environments where ‘everybody passes’… and nobody gets and ‘F’… we prevent our kids from experiencing reality. We prevent our kids from developing the strength, skills, attitudes and coping mechanisms to be able to negotiate the realities of life.We handicap them.

As parents we sometimes make it seem as if we have it all together to the degree that our children do not notice the mistakes and problematic issues we face as parents. I find it necessary sometimes to share with my daughter and let her know Im not perfect. I do not pretend to be something Im not; neither do I make it seem as though I have no troubles in my life.

Not exactly the most pressing question of our day, but it is one that I get all too often to ignore. I would estimate that 50% of our customers are buying our baby blankets for their own children with the other 50% buying as gifts. Yesterday, I opened my paper to read yet another parenting article that’s painfully obvious but yet tries to make it’s content sound new and exciting. It accomplished this remarkable feat by adding a few different terms and yet more ’syndromes.’ Complexity is obviously in. Why?
